Other Obsolete Media

Whatcha got? Old photos locked away on an ancient floppy disk? Try me. I can read 3-1/2 and 5-1/4 floppies, and Zip-100 and Zip-250 disks, CD’s, DVD’s, and various obsolete memory cards and transfer them to a USB flash drive. While no medium is perfect, you’d be surprised how long those formats will last. Of course, the files contained on it may be challenging to actually open… while a JPG file has been common since the early 1990’s, many word processing software for Mac, PC, and other platforms have come and gone. The good news is that many online converters are able to rescue that master’s thesis you did in PFS:Write in grad school or the family tree your great uncle was working on in Lotus Word Pro.
